The business seed that had been planted quickly sprouted and flourished.  Daily experimenting continued to provide new and exciting “potions du jour”! Confident that her products would sell themselves, Melba always kept a variety of these exciting new samples in her purse to share with everyone with whom she came in contact.

An impromptu trip to her favorite vacation spot, the Hawaiian Islands, inspired the tropical ambiance and intoxicating aromas that would become the distinct hallmark of Melba’s Paradise Potions. Upon her return to California, many of her excited friends, neighbors and various contacts were refreshingly constant with their product requests (The samples worked!) and were thrilled to hear she would be turning her passion into a business. Melba was not surprised to hear that even the husbands and boyfriends were secretly revitalizing themselves with her incredible potions.

With this newfound confidence Melba began to further experiment with new and more complicated beauty creams and concoctions.  Without so much as a second thought she had rapidly progressed to the exhilarating field of cosmetic formulation. Word of mouth led to private boutique sales of which proved to be a wonderful testing ground for new fragrances.  Many “Lucille Ball” moments taught her that success represents the small percentage of your work that results from repeated failure.
